Great news for Buyers, Sellers and Realtors: Sales are up—Listings are up—Prices are up. The Oklahoma City market is showing signs of recovery. Our metropolitan area continues to be one of opportunity for all concerned. It is a great place to live and have a family, with cost of living and housing one of the lowest in the country. Oklahoma’s economy is good with an unemployment rate of 4.0 with the national average at 7.7. (Based on April, 2012 Monthly rankings from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, US Dept of Labor.) This places Oklahoma City at an 8th best ranking out of a total of 372 metropolitan areas.
Currently (June 7, 2012) there are 7675 houses on the market in the entire MLSOK system. The breakdown of the number of individual residential homes on the market in our immediate area is as follows:
