the importance of being earnest

The definition of “earnest” includes being serious or determined and implies more that a little dose of sincerity and being purposeful.

When shopping for a home its important to be honest with yourself and your Realtor about what you want, what you can afford and when you are ready to make a purchase decision. This is being purposeful. Being honest or earnest with yourself and your Realtor includes being ready to commit to a property while indecisiveness and an unclear vision of what you will accept versus what you want can lead to lost opportunities.

An amazing house at an unbelieveable price will typically not linger in the market. Thus, don’t be surprised that, while you were wringing your hands over the pink bathroom or the design of the library bookcases, another buyer/Realtor team acted decisively and wrote a contract!
