This post is mostly for other agents in the OKC area. The latest iteration of the Oklahoma City Metro MLS is out, up, and running, and … if you haven’t already, TRY IT OUT. It’s such an improvement over the previous version, I can’t even tell you. There are tons of little (and not-so-little) things that will make it easier to use — the capability to upload (and edit!) multiple listing photos at once, for instance, or to run several simultaneous searches — I am so excited to get more familiar with it.
The big questions I’ve heard are these:
Q: Will I lose all my settings/contacts/searches/data?
A: Nope. The data is all the same, and any changes you make in Tempo will be immediately available in Fusion.
Q: Can I access Transaction Desk, Realist, etc. through it?
A: Yes. The buttons aren’t in the same place, but they’re all there.
Q: What browsers are supported?
A: All of them! Theoretically. I didn’t hear anyone mention Opera, but …
Q: So that means I can run it on my iPad, right?
A: Er … no. Not yet. Because it’s heavily Flash-dependent. The iPad MLS app that is currently undergoing testing is expected to be released within the next 90 days, and is also EXPECTED to have all the functionality of the full Fusion site. But … expectations don’t always equal reality, so I’m not going to hold my breath.
Q: How hard is it to use?
A: Not hard at all. Easier than Tempo.
Q: Can I still use Tempo? I’m resistant to change.
A: Yes. They aren’t going to discontinue Tempo for quite a while, probably until late this year. Right now, as I get used to it, I’m using Tempo when I have a time crunch and have to do exactly this right now, and I use Fusion when I have some breathing room and can take a moment to familiarize myself with it.
So … what are you waiting for? Go check it out! For members of OKCMAR, you can log into Fusion here. And for non-members, you can search all the properties on the Oklahoma City Metro MLS by going to http://centraloklahomaproperties.com/.
